Tips for having a great Hedo trip |

Going Home |
|||||||||||
| It sucks to go home after a great vacation... but there are a few thing that can help this departure.
Many of the Air Jamaica flights leave later in the day. Try and get the latest flight possible. If your flight leaves at 5 or 6 PM, you can stay on resort until 2:00 pm (Hedo II) and then take the resort bus to the airport (they want you to leave the resortt 4 hours before the flight). Leaving from Hedo III, the trip is shorter and they will get you on a bus 3 hours before the flight. A great tip is to nicely ask for a late checkout. They sometimes will let you stay in your room until noon or later which gives you time to shower and pack up later on. If you can't get a late checkout, try packing your luggage, and then checking it with the front desk. You can put on your sunscreen and go naked on the beach for the morning, and then leave your "airplane" clothes in your carry on bag. Often you can leave this in a friends room, or with the hotel. After being on the beach, you can typically get a shower in the spa, a friends room, or at one of the beach showers. When you are at Hedo II, if you are stuck with a really early flight or simply want to extend your resort time, you can take Tim Air to the airport. TIM Air: 876-940-7747 There is a small airport across the street from HedoII. The great part about this, is that once you board Tim Air, your luggage is already checked and you are beyond security once you arrive at the airport. While the plane is small and it costs a fair amount of money (check with them first you can learn more on their website) the scenery and view of the island is like nothing else. The Montego Bay airport has prety good shos for those last inute souveniers for thos at home. Even if you never left the resort, you can easily pick up everything for those at home from rum and rum cakes to shirts, coffee, and other nice trinkets. The prices are reasonable too. We typically stop for a burger and a final beer at Jummy Buffets Margaritaville. There is a nice large on in the main concourse and asmaller one at the end of the lower numbered gates. This is really the only sit down restaurant in the place. |
